Why are people staring at you?
I would really like to hear some of the racism you've experienced, seriously. People make this claim all the time but never elaborate or tell their stories. I'm really interested. By the way I live in the south as well.

Whats the difference since both are protected by the Constitution

Identification to vote isnt voter suppression, unless you believe blacks are too stupid to obtain ID.
I would be so insulted if I were black by this attitude which assumes that blacks are weak and need protecting and coddling and a ride to the dmv!
I don't know why the middle class minorities don't just tell everyone to stay out of their business, that they're doing fine and don't need your help.
And the rest of the blacks/minorities that do need help, get it and move on and make yourself self-sustaining and become a contributing member of society (excluding elderly, ill, mentally challenged, and children.)

This is a free country. If you don't like the way "the south" votes, then MOVE to another state.

No, we must make sure that all states afford all of their citizens the right to vote equally as Americans.

That is their Constitutional right.

If not for the Voting Rights Act, we'd have plenty.

With Obamacare you will have a lot more people getting their ID's.
You can't get medicaid without proof of citizenship/proof of ID
You can't get Obamacare subsidies without proof of citizenship/proof of ID

I don't think Voter ID laws have the undue burden many say they do.
Otherwise there would be the same outrage about the upcoming health insurance mandate.
Yet there isn't.
On one hand the talk is that the poor cannot afford IDs. Yet to get on any social welfare program you must provide one.

Now states can go ahead and implement/execute their Voter ID laws and people have 3.5 years to save up for an ID card.
In Texas it's $16 or $6 if you are over 60.

Which didn't work, I'm proud to say. People endured over 8 hour waits in line to vote. What the GOP in Florida hoped would happen, didn't.

Who would be suppressed by these things... if they happened?
