The founding fathers would've have been classified as terrorists with your criteria. The Patriots practically overthrew the government that was in place at the time.
He was on the right side of history once. Thats about all I have for him. Also had it not been for Reagan, Thatcher, Israel and the Pope he would have been just another dead rebel.
I'm a conservative and my thoughts are that he's likely going to be dead soon and it isn't going to affect my life in the least bit when he's gone. I agree with some things he did and disagree with many things he did, I don't really give much more thought to it than that.
Since he's already making headlines, his legacy is going to be politicized some way or another, so I want to ask what conservatives think of him?
I have positive and negative feelings about him. I like the fact that he fought against apartheid, but I did not like his method. He was sent to prison for leading a group who did terrorist acts and those terrorist acts did absolutely nothing to free South Africa.
I also don't think he and his followers prescribed the right solution for South Africa. They should have split South Africa in two and given one to white people and one to black people. White people could get the area around Cape Town, while blacks get the rest. After apartheid is ended, then apartheid has been used as an excuse to punish all whites for past crimes, and not focus on the economy. Hence whites who have the means to do so, are leaving. And the economy is crumbling.
