Enough of the obstructionist nonsense by McConnell and his bunch in the Senate. At least for now, no "nuclear option." Of course the country benefits when Republicans don't get their way.

Actually I would call it compromise rather than caving. They got part of their way on the NLRB appointments. But it took threats to induce compromise. Obama, are you paying attention here? You really need to learn to swim with the sharks.

It would have been interesting to see the "nuclear option" used, then watch the aftermath when the Republicans take over a filibuster-free Senate sometime in the future. All of a sudden, the filibuster will once again become essential to democracy once again.

the only compromise, if you want to call it that, is that obama will simply have to pick another set of pro-labor people instead of these two. We got everything we want, and still the ability to go nuclear. I'm pretty shocked harry reid pulled that off.

It was complete caving from the right wingers. Just the thought of not having the ability to keep on acting like a bunch of 2 year olds, abusing the filibuster and throwing tantrums over every bill that would benefit the country is beyond them.

Filibustering and grinding the Senate to a halt to stop legislation is one thing, but to block presidential nominations is just a giant **** you to the people of America who elected a president twice with sizable majorities.

I have a feeling republicans don't want to have a filibuster free senate. I read an article in the New Republic (liberal website, I admit) that makes the case the republicans caved to save them from themselves. If they won the senate and it was filibuster-free, they could pass any legislation they want, and with "wacko birds" supporting them, they would be forced to pass legislation that is as crazy as the house. Ted cruz, and mike lee would be proposing all types of insane legislation and make the GOP congress look even nuttier than they do now.

But since the President is a Nigerian Socialist Black Liberation Theologist, his presidency isn't legitimate, so they feel they're doing the right thing.

This is what happens when morons elect tea party moonbats into actual political offices based on their daily ingestion of talk radio talking points. You get a screwed up government and a minority of idiots who are literally trying to shut the government they were elected to serve in down. .

Pretty much. Sad. I look forward to the day when the business community starts knocking off tea party Republicans in primaries.

When are you going to stop peddling this nonsense about Obama? For the umpteenth time, he is Kenyan not Nigerian.
