Since criminals carry concealed weapons law abiding citizens should be legally allowed to as well. We all have a right to defend ourselves.

If we gave everyone the option to carry openly or concealed the bad guys wouldn't necessarily know who to try to take out first.

Yes, I suppose most would still aim for the open carry first but a few stories of innocent grandmas blowing away crooks with concealed guns would get them thinking.

Bottom line...more criminals we can kill the better.

Government should have no voice in determining who can carry a gun and who can't.

If govt is given even a little authority in that area, it will gradually take more and more.

I support effective gun control: by that I mean hold it with both hands.

New Jersey was a Nazi state when it came to guns: I couldn't get a license for the life of me. Washington State? Easy.

Seattle has nowhere near the gun crime as Newark does, even though it's easier to carry a gun legally. Go figure.

The bottom line is this: Only a law-abiding citizen wants a concealed carry permit. If a criminal wants to carry a gun, do you really think he or she will apply for a permit? If the law isn't going to stop them from committing armed robbery, do you think it will stop them from carrying a gun in the first place?

I am for socialized healthcare, for gay marriage, anti-war, anti-death penalty, for ending the war on drugs for higher taxes and democratic socialism as a whole...and yet I am still 100% for the right to self defense and the tools there of.

Left of center: RIGHT ON TARGET!

I do love my concealed weapon of choice, this little cuties that get the job done:

The only requirement I can think of would be some sort of safety course which also explains the local laws regarding firearms. That's what we have in FL, and it makes perfect sense to me. The statistics show that over 50% of the people who take the class choose to not carry after they learn about the laws and the responsibility which comes with carrying a firearm.

Please vote in the poll

If you are going to vote in the poll, please have the courage to explain yourself in the forum. I meant to make the votes public, but forgot, and can't change it now.
My thoughts? I think it's sad that I live in a society where so many people feel the need to carry concealed weapons anywhere, and at anytime. Other advanced nations don't put up with the amount of violence that prompts people to do this in the first place.

Glad you support the right of mental patients and convicts to own assault rifles. Good to know.

Here is the wording again in case you missed it: Concealed carry should be allowed without a permit for anyone legally able to own a firearm

Both my wife and I conceal / carry.

My wife is a former firearms instructor and I have had years of firearm training.
Conceal/ Carry is by far the best deterrent concerning crime due to the fact that criminals have no idea who has a gun and who doesn't.

I demand those that would kill an innocent person to constantly live in fear of themselves being killed if they decide to act upon an impulse to commit a crime.
