Learning English and desiring to speak it are two different things. Unless I am totally surrounded by illegal aliens I rarely hear a Spanish speaking person speaking English.

In many parts of the USA now, Spanish is already the primary language. You can get plenty of jobs without knowing English but you can't get many jobs if you aren't fluent in Spanish.
My God what a paranoid delusional world you live in! We hispanics know that to make a decent living in America learning English is vital to our economic interests.
Amnesty has to do with letting those "illegals" who have been here including many children have a path towards Citizenship and that includes being fluent in English.
Remember it was Reagan who gave "Amnesty" to millions of illegals so he set the precedent! Can you please tell where in the US Spanish is the primary language?

Enjoy your fantasy. The only ones who will be bi-lingual will be those whose second language is English and that have only learned English to survive in this country much as it is today. English speaking Americans are not going to learn other languages just to accommodate illegal aliens or to make those who have an adversion to English feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

Yes, their true agenda is to destroy the USA as an English speaking nation and make us just another Spanish speaking nation -- the irony --- they did all they could to flee their Spanish speaking nations.

There are something like 22 Spanish speaking nations but the immigrants flee them and by pass them to get to the USA. Then they refuse to ever learn English.

I think Mach50 is right --- only it's not going to be another 100 years.

The sky high birth rates and the massive level of immigration from mainly the Spanish speaking nations will guarantee that. You don't see much effort being made to assimilate into USA culture. They are determined to put an end to what few immigration laws we have and have a deluge coming over the border. They not only have many babies, they have them at a much younger age than do Americans. Their generations tend to be half of that of Americans.

Net Migration from Mexico Falls to Zero

Is this just because illegal immigration is down?

Univision snags No. 1 TV rating in July - Business - MiamiHerald.com

Univision expects to claim a coveted title this month: the most-watched network on television.

The Spanish-language broadcaster leads the July ratings race for adult viewers under 50, beating out the “Big Four” for the No. 1 spot in prime time. On Monday, Univision launched a bragging blitz with an open letter to ABC, CBS, Fox and NBC declaring “Número Uno is the new Number One” and ending with the sign-off line: “We are the new American reality.”
is that because mexicans like bad television? I am sure a lot of people watch bollywood movies too.

Funny, the person who founded Univisión was an American born and raised citizen Talk about ironic! He did what all you wingnuts love to profess is the correct way in life: saw an opportunity to open up to a large market to make huge bucks off of it, did it, and is now rich. That's called the free market you wingnuts love to grovel to and bow down to. By the way, your opinion that Hispanics are not assimilating is full of bull. But, being the typical aging white Boomer that you are, you'd rather fill yourself with stories that keep you up at night instead of actually being in the real world.

What agenda is that? My God, latinos that move to the US are not coming here and saying to themselves, "Yes! We're going to beat those gringos and destroy English! Come, amigos! Let's all invade the US and extinctify English!" I really want what you're smoking, it's good stuff, apparently. Actually, no, keep thinking what you are thinking. It's actually good humor and fun watching you squirm over mirages

Another statement full of bull. Back it up with hard data that all illegals are coming here to deliberately destroy the USA. I think you've proven yourself that you, and Oldglory, are not to be taken seriously with your tinfoil hat conspiracy theories . There is no single fact in either of your fear-based, emotion driven posts. You two have about as much credibility as people professing that Reptile aliens live amongst us

No it isn't. Since Obama started his second term and promised amnesty this time around for sure illegal immigration is up.
