Many immigrants, legal or not are some of the most upwardly mobile people I've ever seen. They want better clothes, better cars, better housing and better schools for their children. They are acutely aware of status and the status symbols of achievement. The ability to speak English is one of those status symbols. English vs Spanish is a dumb fight.
Learning English and desiring to speak it are two different things. Unless I am totally surrounded by illegal aliens I rarely hear a Spanish speaking person speaking English.
It depends a lot on Obama's big amnesty getting through --- if they pass it, you can expect a flood of millions of non-English speaking people pouring over the borders to get in on it and to replace the illegals in jobs that only illegals can or will do.
In many parts of the USA now, Spanish is already the primary language. You can get plenty of jobs without knowing English but you can't get many jobs if you aren't fluent in Spanish.
My God what a paranoid delusional world you live in! We hispanics know that to make a decent living in America learning English is vital to our economic interests.
Amnesty has to do with letting those "illegals" who have been here including many children have a path towards Citizenship and that includes being fluent in English.
Remember it was Reagan who gave "Amnesty" to millions of illegals so he set the precedent! Can you please tell where in the US Spanish is the primary language?
This will be a dual language country in 100 years, some places like California and Florida will be trilingual.

There are something like 22 Spanish speaking nations but the immigrants flee them and by pass them to get to the USA. Then they refuse to ever learn English.

They are determined to put an end to what few immigration laws we have and have a deluge coming over the border. They not only have many babies, they have them at a much younger age than do Americans. Their generations tend to be half of that of Americans.
