Then what's the point of the law if it can't rectify the situation? If you freely acknowledge that it will not make a substantial difference (because you can't prove it will), then why waste your time? It sounds like the "reality based community" is rather the "emotions based community." You let your emotions drive your goals. There's no point in letting emotion take over just so you feel warm and fuzzy inside. That accomplishes nothing.

Sure you did. You state forthright that the law won't prevent every bad occurrence. I countered by asserting that the law can't prevent ANY bad occurrence. A person intent on committing this type of crime will not be deterred by your insistence on a legislative fix. What's hard to understand about that?

No one said he did. He received a more than 25% more votes than Romney did and better than that against McCain.
