Tell me where the $7500 in subsidy money will come from? Hint.. TAXES
So if I charge you taxes, and then give you money back, is it really only $100 a month?
Only a dam fool would say yes
Millions will be paying $100 or less or will be able to use Medicaid. This is why the right is freaking out about Obamacare, they're afraid after people start seeing the benefits they will like it.
Having visited the health exchanges (for a friend), they low premiums seem to invariably accompany high deductibles. Virtually non-insurance for low-wage workers, with $5000 and even $10000 deductibles.
That is the way it should be. It discourges people from clogging up hospitals and doctor offices for symptons that can be evaluated using WebMD.com. You can use a credit card to pay your deductible if needed for a real emergency and pay it off over time.
Strange, though, how the unions, Congress, and over 2000 businesses who requested (and received) waivers seemed to mind.
Obama's never going to be able to live down the fact that so many want out of his big plan.
Congress and staffers are moving to the exchanges. Businesses who received waivers only have them to extend time to comply with the law and some unions don't like Obamacare.
Now for everyone else who will benefit, those with insurance, those without insurance, and those on Medicare, they will enjoy the extra protections and benefits.
The latest victims of Obamacare. Look what those meanies at Walgreens did...from Bloomberg - "About 160,000 Walgreen employees now have to choose which coverage plan suits them best at a time of rising complexity in the health-care system. While Walgreen said it will provide funding in 2014 equal to what workers get now, the move curtails uncertainty on future outlays, and there’s no guarantee its contribution will rise if premiums do."
...
Walgreens will provide funding for their employees, but at a fixed rate. As health care costs go up, it will be up to the employee to cover the difference. So Walmarts joins the growing list of companies shifting the burden of healthcare onto their employees and the government.
Who could have seen this coming, eh? We'll have to start a sticky soon of all the people who’ve lost their health coverage due to wonders of Obamacare.
From CBS...
...
And this would be different from what has occurred over the past several decades how?
I have to say, I don't really understand the complaint. Why should employers be burdened with providing healthcare to their employees?

You realize that low-wage workers are the least likely to have credit cards, and very rarely would have a credit card that extends to them $10000 worth of credit?
The Walgreens employees are not going on the public exchanges but on private exchanges that are similar to Obamacare ones. There is no subsidy from the taxpayer though. Completely different in that respect. It is a positive development. Instead of employees getting whatever plan HR negotiates for the company, they will now go to a private exchange and pick a plan that suits them best. When individuals start making their own health insurance decisions instead of relying on their employer, there will be competition for enrollees and costs will come down.

Like $5000 out of pocket expenses ?
These are people that can't afford a few hundred dollars in monthly premiums.

And in the process reduce operating expenses of the employer BIG TIME.
$5000 is nothing when you look at a normal pregnancy can cost you $40,000 or more; have to stay in bed for the duration of your pregnancy, try $100,000 - $200,000.
The car that hit me and I was sent to the hospital... $15,000 was for the Emergency Care, MRI scan, prescription medicine, and seeing the ER Doctor for all of 8 minutes. Luckily I have good insurance, so my cost was only $100 + $20.00 copay (for the medicine).
