As pro-union protesters erupt across the country, USA Today just released analysis that may cause a backlash against public unions. The findings? In 41 states, public employees “earn higher average pay and benefits” than private workers in each respective state.
Bascially if you loo there are monay mre private employees that make much more because fot eh stats. That is comparing aplles to oranges. Especailly since mnay private emplyees are aprttime or lower wage jobs which is mostly not the case in public positions really.

There was no mention of part time work in the article. That's a moot point. I work in the public sector in NJ. Let me tell you, there are MANY positions that are so over paid it is ridiculous. Does the private sector pay up to 90k for a desktop computer tech or a helpdesk position? Hell no it doesn't. Those are 40k jobs if that. I work in IT and I am a network administrator, the desktop techs are making the same as us administrators that have a TON more responsiblity, acountability and skills. I see it first hand.

When the median wages of state government workers without college degrees are compared to similarly educated private-sector wage earners, Nevada's state workers are paid 27.4 percent more -- only California, New York and Connecticut had greater gaps.

That's an ironic twist when you consider that it's the public who pay taxes, to pay public servants, who then pay more in taxes which means the public paid more in taxes... a vicious circle.
It's like Pelosi saying unemployment lowers debt. Lets double the public servants pay and triple their benefits, because by Liberal math we'll buy our way out of debt if we do.

The only thing this proves is how much private industry and Corporate America are screwing American middle class workers.
Corporate Profits are at record highs and corporate executives are pulling mulit-million dollar bonuses and stock option packages. Meanwhile the wages for middle class Americans has stagnated in the last decade.

The image of public workers as sitting fat and happy while those in the private sector struggle has proved potent. Bender is one of the economists who argue in a recent study that public workers actually receive less compensation in combined wages and benefits than those in comparable jobs in the private sector.
