I think you are correct.

According to a poll last week, 59% opposed threatening a government shutdown or default to defund Obamacare. Only 19% favor this approach.

Is it a law or isn't it? Make up your mind.

The House controls the purse strings.

We have a federal government composed of three equal branches.

One cannot force an equal to do something against their will, and you wish to force the House to fund something against its will.

The House was elected by the citizens of this republic, and they expect their representatives to do their job, by representing them.

The vast majority of Americans do not want Obamacare.

The solution is simple. You want Obamacare funded? Win a congressional election, and then you can fund it all you want.

The solution is not to shut down the government, which is exactly what Democrats have done, because they want their cake and the ability to eat it too.

It's still not getting through.

Obamacare does not add to the deficit. It raises revenue to pay for the subsidies.

No it doesn't.

The Senate is an equal partner in all bills, including funding bills.

The phrase you are referencing is a technicality. It does not mean anything in practice. A spending bill can (and has) originate in the Senate, they just including it in a House shell bill before final passage.

Eliminating those exemptions were the Democrats biggest peeve against the House Bill.

Yep, and they had full control of both houses of Congress for the first two years of the Obama administration.

They were extremely shortsighted - or they assumed that they would win the 2010 election.

Sorry Dems, but you lost, and losing elections has consequences.

Deal with them instead of throwing a temper tantrum when you don't get your way.

I'm sorry but please stop being naive No one wants the government to shut down. But guess what, republicans will be blamed. Actually, the conservatives have held the elder republicans hostage to get their way. Who's playing the game here.

Welcome to the GOP of 2013, where a gov't shutdown increasing the cost of running the government means "fiscal responsibility", and demanding any conditions they want in exchange for keeping our country afloat is "compromise".

You seem confused - the Democrats shut down the government - and Harrier is glad that you agree that the Democrats are fiscally irresponsible.
