Warren Buffet is anti-dividends because they are taxed as income.

Neither of his funds pay out dividends.

Oh yeah, like your neighborhood would have helped out? I take it then that you live in a wealthy neighborhood, because that's not how middle class and poor neighborhoods operate. (and yes, the wealthy really are more awesome than most people imagine.)

since they were two different taxes. if you raise buffet's taxes, his secretary's taxes will go up as well.

They would and have under similar circumstances. Sometimes it's hard to know that some people are struggling because they try not to let on. However, word gets around and random beneficial acts pile up, mostly anonymously so as not to embarrass the recipient.

That's what society is. People voluntarily helping each other. NOT taking the fruits of one's labor forcefully to redistribute to others.

My zip code is solid Republican.

No one knew at the time. The foreclosure was the big tip-off. By that time, she was employed and had moved out.

I am unaware of any community, regardless of how they vote, that will come together for an extended period of time and financially hold things together for people who have hit hard times. This particular neighbor and mother would have been mortified had her business been common knowledge.

I don't think that anyone has an issue with investigating fraud but across the board cuts didn't address that. Maybe they should offer stiffer penalties and put in place more oversight to prevent abuse.

There have been no cuts to SNAP.
This was a temporary increase that expired.

Just like the extended UE and FICA cuts. They were temporary.

There are many generous people but that is not an effective solution, we didn't have a safety net in place during the dust bowl era and that didn't turn out well.

That's because Democrats' rob Peter to gift and buy votes from Paul mentality has trained much of society to not give. Most people think it's the government's job now.

Of course, there's a loss imbedded in that because the government takes their administrative cut.
