Oh sure they have 70mph on the interstate but not today, not tomorrow but evenutally they will just keep lowering it until it reaches 0 and nobody will allowed to have cars.

Yes, they could say you were caught speeding. Now give me all your guns. You can't have them. You broke the law.
I don't see the problem in actually enforcing a law on the books. It was the solution offered by the NRA and gun advocates instead of new gun regulations. The laws are on the books there to keep them from people barred from owning guns (felons, mentally ill).

What we have a problem with, is that both the 4th and 5th Amendment are CLEARLY being violated here.
