Don't worry. The "nuclear option" is only temporary.

When Democrats get voted out of the majority in the Senate (i.e. in Nov. 2014), they will hastily rescind this Senate rule between the election and the date the next Congress is seated.

However, once they do get control of the senate, it will get UGLY. Count on it.
But, you assume that all people care about is Obamacare (or whatever other silly, dismissive nickname you want to give the ACA). Over the last month, between a third and below half of the US has wanted Obamacare repealed.

What about the fact that the GOP is standing on the wrong side of nearly every social issue in the US? What about their indifference and inability to sweep the minority and womens' vote?

They and their constituents' continued inability to tackle more than one big thing at a time - Obamacare, abortion, homosexuals, immigrants - and the fact that they continue to stand on the wrong side of the majority of public opinion on those issues will work against them.

The funny part will be coming on C-D following the Repubican upping the game and ending the 60 vote rule for more than just this and watching these same liberals who are now very much in favor of the act, freaking out and acting like it is "unprecedented"

It wasn't too long ago the left was screaming that the repub led House changed some obscure rule.

Now we have Reid changing a rule that had been in effect for over 250 years.

United States Senate elections, 2014 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Even the Daily Kos is projecting the Democrats to lose WV, SD, MT.

With LA, AK as a toss-up plus others close to the fence.

It's unlikely but not unfeasible that the Repubs could take back the Senate in the next election.

You are looking at this thru the lens of your own political views. You aren’t looking at the sings that occur in the American political system from year to year.

I am not talking about ideology. I am talking about the historic reality. The democrats have held an advantage for a number of reasons. The ones you named above really have little to do with it.

The democrats will within a few years find themselves on a downward slide with the republicans in ascendency. The reason will have little to do with the issues you speak of. It will simply be the momentum of history.

That slide may (may) have already started. Obama’s approval rating is below 40%. No party has held the Whitehouse with an approval rating below 50% in modern history. I believe if one were to consider the Senate, in Presidential election years, the party of the sitting president loses senate seats especially when that president is not running, and his approval numbers are especially low.

Time will tell. One thing is certain. Eventually the democrats will lose control of the Senate. When that day comes, the Republicans will have very long memories. It doesn’t matter if it is 2014, 16, 18 or 20… the day will come and payback will be nasty.

However, I would also point out that Republicans have stated that BHO is the most liberal radical president in more than a generation. Would it not therefore be the logical conclusion that Mr. Obama has nominated radicals to the bench in greater numbers and therefore based purely on idology Republicans are doing only what would be accpeted in such a case?
Except that he's not, by any definition you can find other than the GOTP's politically-driven opinion. You guys have made that up from Day 1 when you pledged to destroy anything Obama did -- BEFORE he'd even taken office -- and everyone knows it.
