Why should tax payer pay for employer coverage for them when the same people paying those taxes have to go to the exchanges? Also, WE are the employers, not Harry Reid.
Federal, state and municipal governments have substantially subsidized the cost of healthcare insurance for employees, for 50+ years. 80% of the insured population get their insurance via their employer.
That Congressman are buying insurance via the exchange does not mean that the cost will not continue to be subsidized by the federal government.
What's being debated is how some staffers will buy insurance, not who pays for it.
Instead of getting outraged about picking up 75% of the cost of federal employee insurance, why not take a cold hard look at pensions for Congressmen. Even expelled congressmen get a pension.
Not a bad gig for a part time job for a majority of people who arrive in Congress already in the 1% club.

Reid knows Obamacare stinks so he let his people pass on it.
Federal government employee insurance is ACA compliant. In other words, they will all be covered by Obamacare. Why does it matter to you how a federal employee buys their insurance?

No, this is about exempting a certain class of people from something the rest of us have to comply with. Why should the employer (US) have to take worse HC coverage than our employees? THAT is the issue. Not the damn money. They get better plans than the people who are paying for it. Unions do the same thing.

Why does it matter to the federal govt. how private citizens buy their insurance? This sword cuts both ways.
What makes you think all federal health plan options include the minimum standards ? They don't. As a large employer, the fed gov't. doesn't have to submit to those mandates.
You have been misinformed. Federal Healthcare Plans are ACA compliant.

Federal employees plans are on par with the type of plans offered by most large corporate employers that provide solid insurance benefits to their employees. They include the so-called high deductible HSA plans. These plans are now ACA compliant.
