Exactly. I don't know how the OP neglected that part.

Does it really matter if it was a tweet or in an interview? Either way she choose to tweet what she said in the interview. I'm sure more people read her twitter feed then some local magazine. She could of said what she said and left out the name calling. Because she's right, what Phil Robertson's opinion on something is irreverent, it's a shame she had to stoop down to his level.

Phil's comments don't embarrass me in the least bit, Mayor Parker's comments embarrass me as a resident of the Houston area.
This really bothers you, doesn't it?

During an interview, she was asked about this. She gave an honest answer. "Redneck wingnut" is an apt description, and one that the Duck Dynasty people would gladly accept (they love to acknowledge what they are). Then she further commented with a "I was serious. Who cares?" And she is also correct, who cares? By making the issue irrelevant, she removes it from power. Good for her.

She is being honest. She never said the Robertson's don't have the right to say what they want. She said who cares what a bunch of backwoods racists think. Good for her again.

"Ignorant overweight lesbian"? That's mean name-calling. Don't try to equate that with what she did, they are nothing alike. Maybe you can tell yourself they are, but maybe you also think blacks were happy pickin' cotton for centuries too.

You couldn't be more wrong. Houston was built by forward-thinking civic-oriented business people, who made sure that as they made money, Houston prospered. I'm sure some are right-wing, and some are left-wing. Few were wingnuts.

Since when has that ever stopped anyone in a public office saying something stupid?!

Have you been asleep for a few years? The only thing progressives in Houston have accomplished is building coffee shops down on Montrose.
