She publicly thanked her long time partner (of ten years) for all the help and support she has given her through her struggles with her health! It wasn't like she was screaming "hey! I'm gay look at me!"
If I had someone who I loved that much and who helped me through such hardship I would not only NOT be quiet about it, but I would brag bout that person every chance I got. Robin held that in for long enough if you ask me.
Because some media agency decided to write a story about her. When you own a media outlet you can decide which stories you allow on your network or in your paper.

Oh! And I just want to say. She has been one of my favorite news anchors for years! Long time ABCNews watcher here. Her bravery just makes me all the more eager to watch my favorite news channel. I'm a gay man, and even Anderson coming out didn't switch me to CNN. lol.

I'm also happy that it's not a headline. Could you imagine if everyone's sex life was a headline... I want to read news not people's sex lives.
