Most employers pay more than $10.10 or $10.75. If raising the minimum wage hurts a business, then they are running a poorly functioning business.

I agree. That would be an good minimum and individual States could raise theirs depending on their specifics.

Not every employer has the same business model.

Which is why some businesses are poorly run.

Who are you to say anything about how people run their business? And whether or not they are running it poorly - have you looked their books?

What about all the people that started at minimum wage, and worked their way up to making $10.75 today? They'd suddenly be minimum wage workers again. Do you think they'd stand for that? Would you? Of course not. They're going to demand a raise commensurate with the raise those below them just received.

Someone answer this please...

WHY should minimum wage be a living wage (since that's the main argument that's made for raising it)?

Well if a business fails because minimum wage went up, then it was poorly run.

Why should they care what other people make? Mind your own business and be happy that other people are doing well and stop being so jealous. Just because someone has not run a business does not mean they do not know how a business workers. Many economist have never run a business but you can bet they know how they run.
