Obviously, not all cases are ideal - sometimes when one spouse leaves the family, either by choice or death, a child is left with just one parent.

Still, as it is, laws are being pushed to LEGALLY DENY children the imperative relationships of that with a mother and father. Considering that children are the future of society & that children need the balance of being raised by a mother and father, same-sex adoptions is harmful to children & society.

Marriage is not only to protect individuals in the marriage, but primarily to ensure the well being of children, which can only be produced by the union of a sperm and egg.

Whether a child is raised by his/her own biological mother and father, or adoptive mother and father - they need both the masculine and feminine influences to be their best!

That is interesting, my marriage license said nothing about children, I don't even think my wife and I are required to have children.

Damned straight, we should force young widowed mothers to get married again and excuse fathers from military service and jail time.

Absentee fathers and gun homicides have a very strong correlation.

Comparing different sex parents to single parent housholds, purposefully excluding same sex households with two parents, is extremely misleading.

Using it to draw comparisons that no matter what the household is like, even if both parents are abusive addicts, as long as they are different sex it is better than same sex parents is obscene. Kids need stable households, and better with two loving parents no matter the gender.

youngsters need adults who have the prudence to put their own social and personal things at the back of the bus so right off the bat regardless, excitable party people in general are not a particularly good choice for the kids.

Back on this band wagon again I see. Give it up. Single parents will always exist and they do just fine in raising kids. We all know where you are going with this.

No, they actually don't "do just fine in raising kids." There are many, many statistics to bear this out. Read up.

How did Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold's parents do?

The point is that statistically speaking it is better to have both parents in the home but it's unfortunately not a perfect world and nothing is absolute.

I would also think that children with two adults in the home statistically speaking would do better than one. (not arguing that a single parent can't do well).
