Can you think of a country that is more economically conservative than the US?

Not off the top of my head. Americans support progressive taxation, Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security, public education, public investment in infrastructure, and increasing the minimum wage. Those are hardly conservative ideas.

OK, so US is the most conservative country on the planet economically, and yet the argument is that we are liberal?

Well these right wingers seem to think we aren't the most conservative economically.

Such rankings always depend on what they look at. It seems Hong Kong is the most conservative place on the planet on this list, yet they have universal health care, tax payer funded education system and other truly socialist programs. Besides, Hong Kong is not even a country, it is a part of communist China.

No, we do not. Our health care system is based on private hospitals and private insurance, and higher education on private universities.

Hopefully we will swing more conservative once the damage of Obamacare is felt by the American people.

For now it is liberal and Americans are being damaged by it.

Yes, with the government picking up the tab for services through taxation. In France most of the healthcare system is private with the government picking up the tab. That's the case with many liberal countries. The NHS in the UK is actually government ran. I prefer the French and Singapore model more myself.

So, the most conservative country in the world is liberal?
