They're not going to attack anything. This is what passes for "showing the flag" in Iranian speak and the very best response would be to either ignore them or with as little acknowledgement as is possible.

They're hoping for a great big photo-op of your fleet steaming alongside in an over the top show of force and you can already anticipate the heading for that series of pictures "David Frightens Goliath" "The Great Satan shows fear in the face of our messengers from Allah" or some such dribble.

Al-Jazeera has quite probably already been granted use of a Royal Jet by some Arab Prince or other to do a fly-over, with photogs aboard, daring your top cover to chase them off while gleefully snapping away with their Nikons.

Don't underestimate them, they are the underdog and you know how that ALWAYS plays out.

I'm not particularly scared. We send ships to other countries all the time. They are international waters, they can do as they please.

They have finally arrived off the coast of Florida. Only 500 miles off course.

And they probably have a nice escort of three Los Angeles Class attack subs. Of course they are not aware of it.

If the Navy could knock out its engines with one bomb int he 80's, imagine what they could do to it now if they wanted to...

What the Iranian Navy is doing is perfectly legal since they're in international waters. The US military and public are already poo-poo'ing the whole affair, and not without good reason... the US Navy, for better or worse, dwarfs the entire Iranian Navy hundreds of times over; they pose basically zero threat to the US, and the Iranian military is aware of this; it's not in their interest at all to antagonize the US military. If it makes them feel good about themselves: great, more power to 'em.

3 LA class boats?

The Hunley would have been sufficient.

3 Los Angles Attack Sub a over kill. But we probably do have our boats or 1 boat operating off the East Cost pulling out Kings Bay or Nor Folk, just to keep tabs. Until the Iranians cross US Waters they are just anther Navy operating in international waters.

The Idea that they could seek save Harbor in Cuba is not so far fetch.

However it would be interesting if there was a show of force from the US Navy vs. the Iranian Navy Group. Operating this far with out support ships or escort ships is very deadly business for the Iranians.

Do not under estimate the enemy. Hit and on our ports like Port Everglades or Miami would be a possible target. Plus we do not know if they have any , even one nuclear weapon that could be launched from the Iranian DD
