So race dictates what system of government and quality of government we have?
Poverty, sky high birth rates, cultural attitudes certainly do.
Not one hispanic nation is where you would choose to live. They aren't stampeding to hispanic countries, they all want here, a nation built by English speakers and Britush culture.
If these people were interested in changing their culture, they could build their own countries into something, places they would enjoy and stay in.

I can think of several Hispanic nations I'd live in if I had an opportunity.
Maybe not forever, but for 3 or 4 years? No problem.
They are not Americans. They are North Americans or South Americans.
American is synonymous with the United States.
North and South America are two continents.
The authority has spoken. Only people from the United States are Americans. I only hope all those people from that continent and other parts of the world recognize that you have spoken.
I second that. In Houston the Asian influence is very visible alongside the Mexican influence...then again I'm of Mexican decent and married to a Chinese woman. Maybe I'm biased.
The USA is the land of immigrants and they have always been embraced to come to this country, if you have a problem with that, then don't read what is written at the base of the statue of liberty.
Why do so many Americans fear the fact that in 2050, the Latinos will dominate the demographics? What would be so bad if the star spangled banner would one day be sung in Spanish?
A Latino is simply a spanish speaking American. Sure, technically the USA stole the title of "American" but these Latinos are from "North American", "Central America" and "South America".
They are ALL Americans and the only difference is that they MOSTLY speak Spanish (of course except Brazil and Guyanas etc..).
One cannot say that all brown people are Latinos because in fact a Latino is a hybrid race and can be black, white, brown, asian.. you wont know the difference unless you ask.
I am an Iraq veteran and I strongly believe what is the big deal? Let them take over and make the USA better!
Actually no, we are longer a nation of immigrants but a nation of Americans. Our citizen population way out numbers our immigrant population. Time we shed that stupid label..
As for the Latino population increasing my objection is the way it is happening. It is mostly increasing via illegal immigration and their offspring being born on our soil. That is neither lawful nor natural. When you have too many "immigrants" from one ethnic group they tend to colonize rather than assimilating. That is why I am an advocate of diversity in our immigration numbers and illegal immigration is unacceptable.
Let them take over and the USA will be better? So they are superior to other races/ethnic groups? Sounds like a racist statement to make to me. Latinos are the majority in 23 countries on the Western Hemisphere. They need to dominate the U.S. also? What's next...Canada? I don't think having a dominant group with a tribal mentality and no respect for our immigration laws will make our country better but worse.
As for the poem on the Statue of Liberty it wasn't intended for immigrants to come here illegally and our population growth has increased immensely since that statue was erected. Are we to take that poem literally in today's world and let it dictate that we should take in immigrants in limitless numbers? Please, are we going to commit national suicide over a statue's poem and let it negate our immigration laws today?
I dont care what people say elsewhere. North and South America are just that...if you are from North America, you are a North American but you are not an American. Likewise for South America.
An American from the United States is an American and a North American. A Canadian is not an American but is a North American and a Canadian.
I ran into this years ago with a Canadian acquaintance. It reeks of "but I want to be an American too."
(Just as if there were 2 continents called North and South Europe. People would be Northern Europeans or Southern Europeans but they could not be from Europe because there was no such place, or if there was a country called Europe in Northern Europe, then only the citizens of Europe would be Europeans and Northern Europeans.)
