You overestimate the power of our presidency.

We don't scare anyone anymore. For good reasons.

We lost in Vietnam, we failed in Iraq, and we're presently failing in Afghanistan.

Why would Putin fear us?

It really is a great move.

If those cuts actually come to fruition, I'll be very happy.

That's ok...I'll say it.

Putin would face palm Romney. Kinda like the American people did.
Here's one for you to try: Why was Russia so adamant about the U.S. getting rid of it?

Another broken promise by Barack Obama: A reset of relations with Russia.

Worthlessness on display for going on 6 years now.

Looks like the beginning of a new cold war to me.

If it was so important to the Europeans, why were WE footing the overwhelming majority of the Bill for it?

Why should Americans pay one dime for Europeans to have missile protection?

So I'm left to believe that it wasn't important enough to them for us to bother with.

No it doesn't. It's not a negative that we can't go to war with Russia. Where in the world would this idea come from? The size of the military is also irrelevant. The country is burnt out on being at war. Enough is enough.

As I noted in another thread the country is not going to allow Obama go to war, period. Putin knows this. I say good for us.

Kindly explain how Putin did this. He precipitated a nationalist Ukranian movement to overthrow the government friendly to Russia and replace it with one friendly to the European union so that he could machinate a revolt in Cremia?

And of course if Romney or Palin was in charge Russia would back right down or we would put a couple of nukes into the Kremlin?

This is one of those instances when the most powerful have to be relatively humble. We are not about to get into an armed conflict with the Russians in the Ukraine. Nor is the European Union. It is simply not a winnable battle. So the response must be on a more universal base and involve sanctions on a global scale. And we help the Ukranians in any way possible to make the Russians miserable in the Ukraine.

I doubt the Russians are very excited about taking over the Ukraine or even parts of it. Set loose a situation far worse and more dangerous than Chechnya.

So we need a deal and so do the Russians. And the US may be in a position to broker it.

The Obama cheerleading squad keeps asking what Romney would do. The point is that we wouldn't be where we are today if Romney or even McCain were in charge. Putin would actually consider a potential American response before acting. With Bambi in charge, he knows he can do whatever he wants with no repercussions.

It is analogous to the way King Obama operates outside the Constitution and the rule of law. He fears no consequences from his lemming like supporters. They will not hold him accountable no matter what King Obama does or doesn't do.
