Right now Obama is the president not a republican and it's under his watch. He owns it.
Its Bush's fault.

He doesn't listen to us anyway. Obama has made it clear he despises republicans and won't listen to anything they have to say. Reminds me of Obamacare. His way or the highway even though we tried to warn him it wouldn't work. We all know how that is working out.

Certainly calls into question his announced plans to gut the military.

Given our fiscal disarray, I certainly support cutting government spending across the board, including the military, but he seems to want to increase spending everywhere else and take a meat clever to the military.

Not wise given the world as it exists.

I agree. Russia, under the direction of Putin, acted so swiftly and completely that the deed was done before anybody from the west had time to react. There is also nothing the West, the UN, or the EU can do that will turn out good, either.
Russia will not give up the Ukraine. The Ukraine has a very divergent political population and is stone broke, bankrupt. Every dime either Russia or the west has given it has been squandered and plundered by the corrupt leaders.
If you scratch the surface, the new, temporary leaders of Ukraine are not the ideological saints the west would like to believe. The acting leader was involved with extortion and pilfering the treasury some years ago and some of the fringe leaders are right wing Jew haters.
Frankly, I don't know why the EU would even consider Ukraine for membership. they have enough problems of their own already.
I say let Russian have it, let Russia pay for it, and let Russia try to run it. In the end Ukraine will be like the daughter to the Russian father who runs up a 1000.00 cell phone bill every month playing candy crush.
I do feel bad for the people of the country and I do hope they become a real thorn in Putin's side. Putin has nothing to gain here either but his stupid ego won't allow him to see that.

We can protect our country with fewer troops. We are seeing that we can not protect the world no matter how many troops we have.

The answer: Able bodied people, if you get a government check put on a uniform.

Agree, especially what Putin will do to the people who stood up against him. Ego gets in the way of many leaders.

This is unfortunately a huge flaw in him. Bush said "You are either with us or against us" and half cheered and half jeered.

Obama says "It's my way or I'll do it any way" and the cheering and jeering continues on just from the opposite sides.

No, it always the predecessor's fault when ever the current president's foreign policy fails. Obama isn't responsible for anything because he hasn't been.
