Cold War with Russia? Bring it on. The US was a lot more fun during Cold War 1.0. The pay was better, too.

Be careful what you wish for! Sure the U.S. ranks supreme in military hardware, but what the hell do you think will happen if even ONE warhead is released by either side? What you're talking about would be a "game ender".

Touche'

Many of Russia's WMD won't work due to lack of or poor maintenance and Russia having a corrupt industrial complex supporting their military. Many of their nukes would fail soon after launch and fall back on Russian Territory. Many would make it through though. Thats one of the reasons Russia has alway built Volume over quality. Their crap is well, crap, but theres a lot of them.

On the US side we are fast and proven in recent actual combat. Our industrial complex supporting our military is very proven. Our Navy is as large as the next 4 largest Navies in the world combined, more advanced and proven. Our airforce is as large as the next 7 largest airforces in the world combined, more advanced and proven. They have more tanks and artillery pieces..Maybe they would fly them over here. Unfortunately they still have nukes

We would win, but we would all lose.

Oh, please. It was a joke, albeit with some VERY strong truth to it. The pay WAS better and it WAS more fun. And, I said COLD War, not nuke war.

Sometimes people are just WAYYYYYY too serious and heavy. Lighten up.

Also, we are assuming it would just be us and them, but most countries at war have allies that join in - and IMO if it's Russia, N. Korea, China and Iran vs. us, Great Britain, Canada and Germany....

Exactly, LS. ANY launch of anything by either side with a offensive target resolution programmed would prove futile, and only create a SAD chain reaction. Do we really want that? Do THEY?

Pretty much MAD if any two nuclear powers(established ones excluding Iran or North Korea) go to war and use their weapons. The whole world be screwed! Nuclear weapons is the best deterrent and security in this volatile world though. God know it has kept India and Pakistan from large scale wars. There will be one between the two countries and anything nowadays is just pathetic political posturing.

I'M NOT laughing. HAVE YOU ever served for this country?? HAVE YOU ever been overseas?? IF so then you would NOT have made your thoughtless crack!! THINK before you speak. You need to understand that the next COLD war will BE nuclear.

Another good point! Would we want a smorgasbord from hell, with retaliation from several other countries??
