Not at all.

Many of us who carry know how crazy some (not all) CCW holders are, because we observe their dumb***** at the local range.

Scary stuff.

I really believe that it is far too easy for people to carry, at least in Alaska. We don't even require permits here.

Seriously.

PATHETIC.
The primary intention for the sign was not to keep guns out, it was to insult people who exercise their right to carry guns...

You realize that even if your state required permits, it wouldn't stop anyone without a permit from carrying, right?

Using your logic, we should not make anything illegal because it will not stop someone from doing it anyway, right?

Yes, the man is an idiot. I wonder what other business laws he doesn't know about, perhaps the Board of Health should pay his establishment a surprise visit.

I carry, but I would never carry into bar, that's just plain stupid.

But let the pub owner put up a sign saying "no blacks" and you'll see the same group applauding him now, do a 180.

I support the rights of a business owner to serve whom they please.
Except there is a big difference, between racism and bigotry, and not wanting weapons that have lethal potential, on his premises. Big Difference.

You are correct, laws prohibiting things do not stop anyone from doing them. Laws are meant to establish a basis for punishment. Requiring permits for carrying won't stop anyone from carrying without one.

The only person that mentioned a hip hop club is you.

I have nothing against business owners prohibiting weapons in their place of business....

The problem with putting those signs up though, is that they don't stop anyone from bringing a gun in anyway. The only people they keep from bringing weapons in are the people who you would want to be armed.... good people. People who follow the law and have respect for the wishes of the property owner. Criminals and irresponsible people are going to carry their weapons in anyway.
