No, the people do not want their judges to favor one religion over another.

Agree completely. There are moral absolutes. There is right and wrong.

Most of the moral teachings of the Bible are UNIVERSAL. They do not favor one religion over another. There is no theocracy here.

And governments derive their power from the governed. Not from the religions fanatics. If you don't like living in a secular nation, move somewhere else. Saudi Arabia's theocracy restricts people in many of the ways that you favor.
