If a person accepts homosexuality into their life it is an activity they participate in and the sexual lust is fed . One can either lust and go with the spirit of it... many people are bi-sexual and lust after anyone. Pedophiles lust after children and feed on child pornography.
There are many ways people fall into different sexual practices. If one has self control and practices self control they can defeat it all.
The spirit of man who does not nor wants to practice self contol can be enticed easily and follows every seducing spirit. They do not know the meaning of self control nor do they want to practice it.
There are those who have a keen sense of right and wrong and avoid lusting in a sexual manner. They practice self control mentally and physically .. they take control of their thoughts as well as flee a situation or avoids them.

I've had several friends in my circle (bisexual and homosexual) who have practiced abstinence for extended periods of time while remaining the same sexual orientation. I also know many monogamous couples who do not cheat.

If that's the case, and neglect & or abuse do in fact cause homosexuality, then everyone who is abused or neglected must become homosexual. How can someone be exposed to the cause without acquiring the condition?
So, you have no evidence at all aside from a "few people" you claim to know, and yet expect us to believe your findings are worth the waste of bandwidth you created by posting them AND that your "discoveries" are more credible than years of research from the scientific community?
I have a new theory - based on talking to a few people on the internet - that people who have it in for gays or people of other sexual orientations are, themselves, questioning their own sexual orientation and are looking for a cover to hide their uncertainty.
I have the same lack of evidence to support this theory that you have for yours, but I expect you to accept it just as you expect us to accept yours.

I used to work with an Italian "macho man". He used to brag about all the babes he nailed and said the most vile, derogatory things about gays.

Does that mean every flat tire is caused by a nail?
And let's not forget gay marriage! See, once gay marriage is allowed in your state, the guberment has to keep a certain quota of gay marriages going on to get funding from DC. So, they'll make you catch the gay - probably with flu shots provided through Obamacare - and before you know it, you'll be gay, too! There's no escape, though some have reported limited success by overdosing on Faux News. It doesn't actually prevent the gay, but it does kill enough braincells that the gay can't rewire anything since there's not enough brain tissue left to rewire.
They legalized SSM years ago in my country years ago. It's a nightmare!
Jackbooted thugs drag you out in the middle of the night, kicking and screaming, and force you to get married to someone of the same sex at gunpoint.
Some brave souls still want opposite-sex spouses, and have to scramble across the border under cover of darkness, through an underground railroad deal, which you can only find out about through word of mouth. If you're caught, it's life in prison with no chance of parole.
