Gay Weddings: State Orders Farm To Pay $13,000 Fine For Refusal To Host Lesbian Nuptials

Ridiculous. I hate the government, state and federal.

I believe people should have the right to do what they want and if I don't want to host a gay wedding it is my right. Churches are next, just watch.

I'm sure the Big Daddy In The Sky will forgive them.

Remember, His boy said 'render unto Caesar what is Caesar's and to God what is God's'.

The farm couple have a business (Caesar). They make mammon from their business (Caesar).

Maybe they should stick to farming and praying; praying and farming.

The great statism deflection. If you want anything from the public, you must get everything, inlcuding tyranny. If you want roads, then you must deal with family farmers having their freedom of association violated.

Yes. Why does the owner of the lunch counter have fewer rights than the patron?

I believe that a business owner should be able to discriminate against anyone, for any reason, and refuse them service.

That said, turning people away for their sexual orientation, skin color, whatever is just stupid, and only serves to hurt your bottom line.

I find, many times, when these stories surface the owners have hired publicists. Wonder if this farm has.

And people wonder why business isn't creating more jobs.

Has nothing to do with the job crisis. Please prove that point in a graphical format or link. I think you're just blowing smoke out of your butt on this one.

Businesses aren't hiring due to lack of demand.

OK if you say so.

My opinion is that small owners have to be very careful today because of situations just like this.

I come from a small town. I know 4 owners of family owned businesses.

Not a damned one of them isn't hiring out of a fear of a lawsuit over gay people, not one. They aren't hiring because the economy is crap, and they can't get people to walk in the doors more.
