Because incest is against the law. The main two reasons is children produced because of incest are in major risk of having issues & number two, it's disgusting... So a law was made to punish people that partake in this particular perversion...

Can you say"incest"?! This is really screwed up, how can you have sex with a sibling? Only thing sicker is sex with parents or animals, or necrophilia!

Was this a fling between half siblings? Why are their last names different and why is the girl named Christopher? What am I missing here?

I'm going to play devil's advocate here.
I think sex between morbidly obese people is disgusting. Should it be outlawed?

She was actually his 1/2 brother who shared a father with him, but his mother was actually his daddy's sister so in essence a 3/4 brother. But then he had a sex change and wanted to keep his/hers original birthname (cause in the South that's the right thing to do, of course.).

So really they had homosexual-incest 1/3rd removed.

Easy. Please follow along.

Since offspring can follow, think of it as an early form of child abuse. Can you imagine their future kid having to introduce his/her "parents."

Only if they were closely related. But seriously a line needs to be drawn somewhere on what is acceptable in this society. And since children born of incest has a high chance of deformation and mental issues this is a good area to draw that line...
