Pushed by next year's grand marshal Archbishop Cardinal Timothy Dolan, the mayor and council of NYC organizers of the largest Saint Patrick's Day Parade in the USA have invited a LGBT group to march next year under their own banner. Others will be invited in coming years.

they just don't want all the controversy anymore. But Bugsy's post
is a misquote. Dolan only said he will go along with the council's decision.
Nobody wants any more fighting.

You don't know "Dolan" well do you?
To the extent possible within his office there is no louder nor more forceful supporter of LGBT in the NYC Catholic Church. Why would the Hibernians suddenly give way after years of being called nasty names, protests, court actions ( in which they prevailed) and most recently sponsors such as brewers pulling out of the event? They were got at by someone with enough power and or influence to get them. New York City's council has little to nil leverage with the Hibernians. They are a private group with the right to march and have otherwise obeyed all know laws. If the City tried to deny them a permit it would be sued into bankruptcy.
What a shame. People who just want to watch a parade have to be subjected to the gay agenda.
