The last year of the boomer generation are just this year turning 50. They didn't graduate high school till 1982. Hardly in their "prime.". And most are not out of the workforce. Wish we could.. but can't retire yet.

The peak of baby boomer births was 1957.
They won't turn 66-67 for another 7-8 years. Full retirement for them is between 66-67.
2023 is when you will see peak retirement.

"Truth is the recognition of reality; reason, man's only means of knowledge, is his only standard of truth" Ayn Rand

I see no reason, reality or truth in this report. People are seeing what they want to see and comparing apples to oranges.

17 trillion in debt, 17,000 stock market means the real TRUTH is coming.

Then all men will know the reality of life of a nation with a printing press and a ambitious domestic and foreign policy.

Who was fighting in Vietnam in the 1960s? The boomers were. The older boomers are turning 68, so yes, they are dropping out of the workforce. Let's not pretend they are not. It has started, and it will continue for some time. And yes, most boomers were in their prime in 1980s.

The peak was 1947. They are 67 today.

United States birth rate (births per 1000 population). The red segment from 1946 to 1964 is the postwar baby boom

Inversion and the ability to keep their foreign profits in other countries has helped US companies keep their profits up because their US revenue is stagnant/declining.

Close that inversion rule like so many in DC want to do and you'll see just what those companies will do to avoid Uncle Sam from getting his greedy paws on their foreign profits.

That chart you posted doesn't exist on the Census Bureau site anymore.

Here is the actual Census report and that chart is in there as a "percent change in number of births".

Moral of the story....Wikopedia isn't always fact.

Here's the report..figure 1. US births..actual births peaked in 1957.
You posted the birth rate which is not actual births.

Democracy Class is an important part of Rock the Vote’s outreach plan in 2011 and beyond, considering almost 13,000 young people turn 18 every day.

So-called "Millennials" outnumber all generations before them; today there are 17 million more Millennials alive than Baby Boomers, and 27 million more Milliennials than there are members of Generation X. By the year 2012, Millennials will represent 24% of the voting age population and 36% by 2012.

In 2011, the first of the baby boom generation reached what used to be known as retirement age. And for the next 18 years, boomers will be turning 65 at a rate of about 8,000 a day.

Total Number of Americans who turn 65 per day............6,000

FACT: number of americans turning 65 daily.....6,000
number of americans turning 18 daily...... 13,000

with only 6k of people being ELIGIBLE to retire, yet 13k are ELIGIBLE to COME IN TO the work force...the work force SHOULD be increasing...yet the politicians play with numbers....

you have LESS people working full time than when Obama took the helm... you have 13 million more people in the population since the change of command.......

and the "'millennials " are a BIGGER generation than the boomers
