Do Cons care? Really, if so why has the House sat on the Bill passed by the Senate 15 Months ago that would do a lot to secure the border. Why aren't you calling them out, oh wait, never mind.
What was the senate bill number so we can discuss what was in it
1. That sheriff sounds like his IQ is a wee bit less than his boot size.
2. The "terrorist alert" he refers to was discredited a couple of weeks ago. That boy should know better. He should at least try to keep current. And so should Fox. Unless all they're doing is peddling fear. But Fox doesn't do that, do they...
I believe the House was against the pathway to citizenship . I think Boehner did not bring it for a vote partially due to his members. Probably will be an issue after the election and maybe an issue in some districts in the midterm,

I believe when a Bill is passed by one house of Congress the other House is are supposed to review it make changes they believe should be made and then sit down and discuss them and get the Bill on to the President. Isn't that what you complained the Senate was not doing, and I agreed, so why is it you do not hold the House accountable for not doing their job? There is no Double Standard being employed here is there W?

I already agreed that the Senate does the same thing at time, my question was on the House. I was hoping you would surprise me and say that they have also failed to do their job, darn you disappointed me in that hope that there was still some of the old Wjtwet left in you and you could do it.

I think it's common knowledge that they've been absolutely impotent...a huge disappointment. Especially with regard to the border. They have culpability here as well. I'd rather see them pass a strict border closure policy and totally revamp the current laws concerning immigration. Once this is accomplished, and even if the result is that they are not re-elected (due to the "angered" special-interest groups, or the Hispanic pool of voters, as well as the huge pool of "low-information" voters) I'd respect them so much more... But you certainly realize that once they're gone, our country would be at the unchallenged mercy of the Democrats.
A single-party government goes against every tenet and ideal of our Constitution! That would be the death of our country. Is that what you want???!!!
Shifting gears here, one of the glaring, but basic problems is that our politicians are just that...career politicians for the most part.
As such, they will do just about anything to stay in power... Delay decisions until elections. Go with the "popular" vote, even though "popular" may be based on listening to the vast majority of voters who are of the uninformed masses, who want to retain, for example, their entitlements. Go with special interest groups. Back door dealings. Etc, etc, etc!
Can anyone really name a current politician who has impeccable integrity, and whose ultimate goal is for the protection, growth, and safety of our country over and above their own selfish motives (of staying in power)???
If that rare bird exists, I'd certainly like to find out more about him or her! I wish I could stand corrected, here.
Quite honestly, our government, on both sides as well as the "whole enchilada" has long lost its way...
The only thing at this point that may help, is to deconstruct our entire system, and start anew - based on the Constitution and the vision of our founding fathers. Add to that scenario is to look across the world, and take the "pearls" from those systems that have worked.
Just as one example of a current "pearl" that's being touted... there's some talk in this forum about the Nordic Model. Yes, this governmental and societal approach DOES seem to have its positives, and Norway has been successful so far, and for them...given their population size and huge amount of natural resources per capita. They have a constitutional Monarchy, who's active in government, and works in tandem with their parliament as well as "big business". The monarchy has a vested interest to ensure that the government succeeds, and thus remains "transparent" and relatively honest in their dealings. Otherwise, their very existence might be in danger. That's one of the reasons why it's working for them at the current moment. Theirs is a marriage of capitalism and variants of socialism.
So, can we assimilate aspects of this model somehow, along with other aspects of successful governments and countries as well? Would these methods and ideas contradict with our Constitution? I don't know...
Anyway, I believe that career politicians, in essence, contradict the ideals and foundation of our Constitution, and as such, they should be outlawed and excluded from running our country. Their methods and ideologies actually contradict those of our founding fathers.
I realize that this is radical - but at this point, does anyone else have a better idea?
So, in this process of deconstruction and rebuilding our government; have a process that chooses from a pool of candidates who are successful by merit alone, in various and diverse professional fields, and have them go through a rigorous educational process about the Constitution, leadership, business and business management, law, economics, history, etc. Then fill the various departments with these individuals. No nepotism. No special-interests. Balance out the fields, as well as the candidates (through a variety of aspects and metrics) who fill these positions.
Of course, this is an extremely basic proposal, and would take years to install.
But, the road we're on is one of ultimate self-destruction anyway. mr. "o" and his cronies just accelerated the process. The House, basically, is doing practically the same...with similar actions and non-actions...
Based on this, why not, then, accelerate the process of deconstruction, and as outlined above, change the very core and essence of the people who would be running our country?
As far as the topic of this thread, and along with this proposal, it's just basic logic that we secure our borders, in order to protect our country and its Constitutional ideals.
We can't and shouldn't be involved with taking care of the world when we cannot even take care of our own dysfunctional country and impotent government!!!
Finally, just by virtue of simple math, we cannot have an open border and therefore care for anyone and (hypothetically) everyone in the world who desires to cross in and live here!!!
That should be a given, from the very basic get-go.
It was discredited by "government officials." They who covered up and lied about Benghazi, the IRS scandal, the surge of illegals from Central America, and Fast and Furious. Yeah...I believe THOSE guys.
