Liberals would not be inclined to even take note of it. [MOD CUT/off topic]

Funny how conservatives are the only ones commenting on this.

I've always disliked the terms "white/black." I've yet to meet one person with black skin, or one person with white skin.

Well that's your problem, race certainly does exist. I'm proud to be black.

I applaud her comments! I cannot believe it's been over 20 years since she starred on the Cosby Show ... time flies.

We need to move beyond labels and hyphenations. It is causing too much division in our nation. We are separating ourselves as Gay Americans, Irish Americans, Straight Americans, African Americans, Asian Americans, Italian Americans, Women Americans, etc, etc when we should all just be plain old AMERICAN. There is no rational need for all these divisions other than to keep us divided.

I don't know if she's worth that much, but even if it's a 3rd of that, she lives in a world where she doesn't have to be concerned with how other people view her. For the average person who wants to go into a store, or drive down the street, or apply for a loan, the idea that you can pretend labels don't matter is ridiculous.

Honestly, I found her statements very positive and refreshing. She gets her points across without using negative language and seems against labels which is a healthy attitude.

Thank You, I could not think of a word to describe what I was thinking. You stated it well. So very positive and a refreshing attitude for once.

Her opinions are not out there for any political debate. I truly feel this is how she feels, and is expressing her feelings. Of course some will make this political when I do not believe this is. Will some have a problem with this, of course, anytime, someone does fit into that box, there is a problem. Who really has a problem, the people who think, it is there way or the hwy.

Default Raven Symone preachin' - "I'm tired of being labled" [Gay, Straight, African - American etc..]

American culture always seemed to have such an unhealthy obsession with labels, dividing ourselves by our skin color and our sexual orientation... its good to see people getting tired of all this... Oprah's reaction was interesting, considering she seems to be a liberal
