Based on a vote for Obama's desired plan you mean - you forgot that part. No, it's not been amnesty by default. That's a weak argument. It's a rampant illegal immigration problem that has not been properly addressed through enforcement, something Reagan wanted way back when he agreed to his amnesty bill. Of course, the Democrats gutted that as soon as they could and didn't enforce anything at all.

I wish they would name bills more in line with what they actually are - this bill is an amnesty bill. Not a reform. Reform would include mandating e-verify. Reform would be revisitng the 14th amendment. This is just yet another reward for illegals and does absolutely nothing to deal with illegal immigration. But by all means, support a bill that accomplishes absolutely nothing if that makes you feel better.

The president said, amnesty up to 5 million illegals that have been here for at least 5 years...

Hmmm, 5 million illegals? Ok how would they prove 5 years of living in the USA? A check mark next to 5 Years or more?

Hope congress can reverse this insult on our wound.

5 million, ????? Your talking more like 15 million, maybe more? They are flooding into the U.S. and BTW, does anyone know that Obama signed an Agreement with China, to allow people to come into the U.S. legally...and granted legal entry? They will be flocking into the U.S. via CA

Those paying close attention know that Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) never sent the Senate's gargantuan amnesty bill (S.744) over to the House of Representatives. Reid has refused to do so because he knows his bill is unconstitutional because the bill raises revenue; the Constitution requires all bills raising revenue to originate in the House, not the Senate. Mr. ll aware

Odd how he did not hesitate to send Obamacare to the House.

I just don't think the bolded is correct. The Senate bill was passed and printed. True, I cannot find where it was physically taken to the House, but we do have this:

Statement by House GOP Leaders on Immigration Reform & Border Security | Speaker.gov

Above link is statement by Mr. Boehner (from his press office) dated May 23, 2013, stating that the House was not going to consider the Senate bill (then under consideration), but would do their own immigration bill.

In the following link, Mr. Boehner was reported as stating, after the passage of the bill, that he would not take said bill up in the house:

U.S. Senate Passes Immigration Bill | Congressman Rob Woodall

Finally, here is another statement by Mr. Boehner, again from his own blog, dated July 29, 2014:

Boehner to Reid: House Will Reject Any Attempt to Add Immigration Reform to Border Bill | Speaker.gov

Mr. Boehner states, in part:

"So let me be as clear as I can be with Senator Reid: the House of Representatives will not take up the Senate immigration reform bill or accept it back from the Senate in any fashion."

I suspect that will be something which is rather easy to fake. Probably something like copies of bills or some such nonsense. That's the problem with unilateral action like this that has not been properly vetted. It's not well thought out, it's poorly crafted and ripe for abuse.

Same thing they have been saying for 30 years.

How much residential and commercial construction and maintenance in Texas has occured on the backs of undocumented workers. What might those homes in The Woodlands have cost if they were built by union workers? How might this have impacted the standard of living in Texas if they paid US people to build/ maintain/ renovate/ cook/ clean/ caretaker children and elderly?

How come Texas has not implemented biometric ID? is it possible Texas has no interest in preventing the employment of cheap undocumented labor? Until employment is addressed, people will find a way in.

Building/ maintaining border fences and employing 20,000 more border patrol agents at $90,000 a crack on the federal dime is good for Texas and creates the perception of " doing something". Governor takes a bow , while condemning big government.

In my neck of the woods, Eastern Europeans arrive each Spring and work in the trades through November when they return home, rinse and repeat. Their US counterparts spend the winter on unemployment, premiums paid for by employers in most states.
Do you support the claims most illegal immigrants first arrived legally with visas and then stayed past the expiration dates then?

The U.S. has imported cheap labor, all along. How could the US compete in the global market if it did not imports cheaper labor and/ or outsource?

Who the hello is going to pay a premium to sustain the US middle class?
