And here is one explanation by me about why President Reagan took the action he did after passage of the 1986 immigration act:

Will liberals like it when a GOP president makes his own laws?

Just because somebody on the radio or television refers to this president as being a dictator, one does not need to adopt the opinion as true. There is a vast world of difference between dictatorship and what Obama, and prior presidents, have done via executive order.

Remember: executive orders may be undone by the president (present or future) at the stroke of a pen, or by Congress if they pass a law and the president signs said law. Hardly the attributes of a dictatorship.
You are correct, I mis spelled Reagan. Apologies.

In my mind, he is ACTING like a dictator. Perhaps that is a bit dramatic, but it is how it FEELS to me. Oh, and I did not hear anyone on TV or radio saying he was a dictator. Look up the definition in the dictionary and it sounds like what happened last night.

dic·ta·tor·ship noun \dik-ˈtā-tər-ˌship, ˈdik-ˌ\
: rule by a dictator : rule, control, or leadership by one person with total power

: a government or country in which total power is held by a dictator or a small group

No it didn't.

It has benn said that if the BIPATISAN senate bill had been put to a vote with the house, it would have passed. Who knows? It's clear to me that the GOP has avoided a situation whereby their votes become a part of the record. Too risky for the midterms and 2016. Easier to give amnesty by defaulting to kicking the can, as has been done for 30 years.

All illegal numbers are estimates.

They know because the computer keeps track of the millions of duplicate SSN's and those of dead people.

You do know that's all the Senate bill does too, right? Just more amnesty. I don't know why they even bother calling it reform. It doesn't reform a single thing. It's just the next version of amnesty like all the predecessors.

Nothing is being "reformed". It's amnesty pure and simple.

Let millions of uneducated, unskilled, poor immigrants and their families stay in the US.

What Obama is doing is different. Regan was complying with the immigration law, by addressing a crack in the law, an unintended flaw in the law that would adversely affect the people who were trying to comply with the law.

The five million people 0bama defers deportation for, are not trying to follow existing immigration laws, they did not just fall thru the cracks, they are purposely disrespecting our laws and borders, and violating immigration laws.

And Obama bent the laws to accommodate them.

Freaking unbelievable....

It took six weeks for my husband to get cleared to work in Canada for one month. It took five months to get him cleared to go to South America for work. Yet 5 million just got cleared to work in the US forever in five freaking minutes......
