Amen, Hendu, with or without this EO, these 11 million would continue being here, and working as they have through both GOP and Democratic administrations.

Odd, past presidents were not given flack over this.

Honestly, blacks are more socially conservative than whites or Latino's. White social conservatism is rooted more in race than values and religion.

If European immigrants can squat on Native American land, Mestizos from Latin America should feel no remorse in doing the same.

Did America have a welfare system when they came here? Me, I don't care as long as I don't have to pay for them to live here.

Everyone knows they will never vote Republican so does it make sense for republicans to work for them and pass real reform?
Pawns?
Only in your mind, patch. Every single one of the people whose lives just became drastically more secure do not think they are pawns. You mistake gratitude for a person in authority that finally saw them as human beings, not pieces on a game board. And if you took your blinders off, you would learn many of them aren't as happy with what they got as you think.

But the first step is always better every time than no step at all. The first step is always a little higher up than the bottom, and is a lot better when the bottom is quicksand. Right now, any solid ground for any Hispanic is better than the quicksand that was slowly pulling them under, and the Republicans could have created that first step long ago.

You seem pretty sure that their status will return to confusion and insecurity. You need to re-think that one; President Reagan gave the same group of people the same amnesty, and they are mostly citizens now. Your conservative Hispanic voters are some of them, and they know there status just as well as you know yours.

it makes perfect sense for the Republicans to change direction and begin working for them. President Obama just added up to 4 million brand new potential citizens, just in enough time for them to become citizens and vote for the party that saw them as human beings who simply want a secure life. 4 million brand new voters.

There are 4 million more still up for grabs. Gratitude, not vindictive obstruction, wins hearts and minds. Better change up or prepare to be run over. Once you lose your prejudice, you'll find most of them aren't so bad at all.

Yeah, usually, people come to the Democratic party really well off and with great jobs, then they end up losing all that and then need all that poor stuff.

Like the homeless people who switch to Republican end up trying to decide if they want to sail their yacht to Cancun or Bermuda this year.

The Europeans didn't come here illegally. There were no immigration laws. The so-called Native Americans migrated here just as they did. They didn't just sprout up out of the ground like corn so no, they weren't "native" to this country/continent.

In today's modern world every country has immigration laws so no, Mestizos from Latin America cannot come to our country at will. Get your head out of the past.

Great. So when can we expect to see a bill by Conservatives outlining their plan?

I have learned a long time ago that I don't always get what I want in life.

What I do know is that The United States of America is the ONLY country in the world to confer citizenship on everybody born here even if the parents are here ILLEGALLY. A nation that encourages foreigners to enter its territory illegally can hardly be considered a sovereign nation.

A bad law is suicide.

Why do they need a plan? We already have immigration laws, policies and quotas on the books. They don't want a plan that includes amnesty for illegal aliens and rightly so!

The only plan that should be in place is to mandate e-verify in every workplace and make all employees already working pass it. Deny any benefits to a household headed by an illegal alien and change the interpretation of birthright citizenship. Now that's a plan! Many if not most illegals will self deport and it will be a deterrant to more coming here. Secure our borders against criminals and terrorists also.
