Vladimir Putin.

Write this down Ditherer-In-Chief:

"Mr Putin's popularity spikes at moments when he takes decisive, forceful action."

And this, too, before you badmouth or downplay America in front of other world leaders:

"Mr Putin's genius is to increasingly identify the state with himself."

Okay, you don't have to bother with this one. They do this with and without your help:

"One of Mr Putin's greatest tools is his ability to manipulate public sentiment through a stranglehold on Russia's most influential media."

Okay, we don't think much of them here either - not the President's fault. Maybe not Putin's either - Some of them just stink at it:

"The polls say Putin is adored, but can they be trusted?"

Too late - Obamacare:

"If wages and pensions are hit and jobs are lost? Then Mr Putin's Teflon may begin to flake."

Seven reasons to explain Vladimir Putin's popularity cult - Telegraph

Note: The Putin article is from a UK news outlet so don't hurt them for not making Obama connections.

I can't wait until we have another POTUS who actually loves America as much as Putin loves Russia. At least one who doesn't despise us.

Haven't had one for several several decades. Maybe it's about time.

Keep in mind that Putin controls the media. The Russian versions of CNN, Fox News, etc. spend 24/7 touting nationalistic propaganda (Putin is a hero, Russia is always right, Russian culture is superior, Russians are happy and united, any criticism of Putin is unpatriotic, etc.) while blaming the United States and other countries for any ills felt by Russian citizens.

Publicly criticize Putin in Russia and you could end up losing your job or in prison. Like the article says, Putin's deputy chief of staff recently told a group of political analysts that "there is no Russia today if there is no Putin" and "any attack on Putin is an attack on Russia."

People that live in America have no idea how good they have it.

Many Russians get nostalgic for the good old days when Russia was unified and they had a wall up between Germany. No surprise that he has great approval ratings as stated above when the media is killed or arrested when they criticize the corruption. I remember that he didn't have troops in Ukraine and Crimea invited him in to take over their country, that's what the Russian people read.

That's what we need to improve presidential approval ratings, control of the media and a few more invasions of sovereign countries. This doesn't turn out well for Russia, the increase in military spending and devaluation of the ruble along with frozen assets in a country that has a fairly small economy but nothing like a popular ex-KGB agent to brighten their hopes.

It is bizarre to see Americans worship a thug like Putin.

the same people whining about the media not going after Obama are gushing over Russian propaganda.

I wonder if they feel the same about African Dictators with 100% approval ratings.

Just like North Koreans love Kim Jong-Il, just ask any of the residents one of the most beloved leaders in history.
