Certain professions do have mandatory retirement age, so this is not something alien.

Eventually, this will all play out (the boomers will enter the carbon cycle like anyone else), but I can see the OP's frustration. The boomers suck up all the oxygen, and still complain.
So, retiring boomers are responsible for the nation's low labor participation rate And working boomers are responsible for keeping young people out of jobs.

What next ? Boomers responsible for snow in Maine and heat in Florida ?

Same issue came up in 70's, when boomers were having problems finding work. Me I retired at 55, so some young person could support their family. The people hanging on were never able to figure out the system and do not have the means. A lot of them are on CD trying to push very bad ideas. LOL

Oh... job opportunity note to self. Start oxygen supply business so everyone can walk around with those canisters and tubes sticking up their nose. The young will be gasping soon and there's money to be made.

FAA does not impose a mandatory retirement age on pilots.

Major carriers/ unions do.

One can pilot so long as they are able to pass a biannual test.
