Opinion-wise, it's not working. The chart below indicates opinion has been statistically flat since 1975.

  • 1,500 combat deaths
  • 11,068 firearm homicides
  • 13,834 AIDS diagnosis deaths
  • 32,479 motor vehicle fatalities
  • 730,322 legal induced abortions

Note that the number of abortions performed in 2011 resulted in more deaths than all of the battle deaths, 651,031, in all American wars from the Revolution through Desert Storm.

More than 50,000,000 legal abortions have been performed in the US since 1973. If those "fetuses" were included in today's US population, approximately 318,000,000, the percentage of abortion opponents would conceivably be the majority of the US population.

* These numbers are from 2011 because that was the latest year for which I could find numbers for each category. The statistics are from the Census, NHTSA, CDC Homicide, CDC HIV, NIH, VA and CDC Reproductive Health

So, how many abortions would be acceptable to you? If the answer is none, what difference do the numbers make?

Oh good, another let's force women to birth children thread. I wonder how many people posting here know if their church also houses an orphanage?

A fetus does not equal a PERSON who is a soldier, or a PERSON who gets killed by a gun, or a PERSON who dies of AIDS, or a PERSON who dies in a car accident.

A fetus is not a PERSON, so much for your little comparison.

I like how he is assuming that because the women would have to give birth that 100 percent of the children would then grow up to be anti abortion .

Oh, yeah, I forgot. Someone on this thread implied a fetus is a parasite.

So when does a fetus become a PERSON?

When you can list them as a dependent on your taxes.
