Climatologists deduce a correlation between average global temperatures and global levels of atmospheric carbon dioxide through the study of geological surveys, fossils, ice samples and historical temperature records. Recent measurements (recent in the span of human activity on the planet, but insignificant in the geological record of the planet) point to an increase in the rate of atmospheric carbon dioxide accumulation and a corresponding average global temperature increase.
Therefore, the increase in average temperature must be caused by the increased accumulation of atmospheric carbon dioxide and the increased rate of this accumulation must be caused by man's fossil fuel consumption.
Fill in the blanks to what? There's nothing to discuss. All you did was state something most people already know (rather they believe it to be true or not).
I think, if you were to spark a discussion, you would ask 'why are people denying this' but that would be beating a dead horse (not that that doesn't happen all the time here anyway; Obama's from Kenya!). You could try and ask what should be done, but the thread would be locked after about 5 pages of 'discussion.' You could ask what the affects of rising temperatures will be and how it will effect us.
But in order for us to 'fill in the blanks' there must first be blanks to fill.

What blanks do you need filling in?
You seem to not be aware of basic atmospheric physics of heat transfer, CO2, and the greenhouse effect.
As I have mentioned before, we learned about the 'Greenhouse Effect' back in grade school in the late 1960s or so. Of course, back then it was felt that it would not be a problem for years and years down the line.
Also of course, back in those days China and India were 'third world' countries, with few cars.
I visited China in 2008 a few months after they held the Olympics. While in Beijing our guide told us that in that city alone, 1,000 new drivers (and their vehicles) hit the road each and every day.
He also explained that China had some 30 cities larger than New York City, each also adding an alarming number of new drivers every day.
I reflected about that while at the hotel, when I talked to a business man who had first visited Beijing in 1980 (when China was just opening up). He said that at dark Beijing fell into utter darkness. No street lights, no cars (except a few for Party leaders), and with few homes having electricity. He marveled at the changes he had since the in intervening years.
We were fortunate the first day we arrived in Beijing: a massive thunderstorm the night before cleared out the famous pollution. A week later (after touring other cities) we came back to Beijing, and I got to witness that pollution first hand. Fifty yards away from the "Birdnest" Olympic stadium I could barely make it out.

One thing that gets over looked is what started the current warming trend? back then CO2 emission were tiny. Soot was large. my money is on soot in the snow on top of the permanent seas ice leading to its brake up as the cause.
We are too puny to affect the CLIMATE of an entire planet...and we don't.
The CLIMATE fluctuates over THOUSANDS of years.....we've had ice ages, followed by warming, followed by ice ages, followed by warming......on and on....
Do we want more cold and snow...and a government that won't let us use fossil fuel to keep warm? Really?
We will adapt to whatever the climate does...so will the polar bears, or the spotted frog, or whatever other life form seems to be affected today by sun, shade, cold, heat, etc.....

Jeez.
As an individual, yes we are puny, but 7.3 billion of us are not puny. In 1960 when I was born, there were 3 billion people on the planet and not as many of them living with all the modern conveniences as there are today. We have affected every single part of the planet, DDT can be found in every single living creature and plant on the planet. We can and have affected the climate.
