If so, they must be very bored.

I've worked with federal employees. Trust me, they're more likely browsing ebay or porn. What they're most likely not doing is any honest work.

So is it your contention that somewhere in the federal government a worker or workers have been assigned to read City-Data and then report their findings up the chain of command?

In which branch of the federal government does this worker or workers presumable reside? Are we talking the executive, legislative, or judicial branch? What department or agency? Who gets reports on the monitoring of City Data - in other words, what chain of command does this information travel through? Are reports about City Data monitoring made, and then to whom are the reports distributed?

I really have no idea what you're asking - that's why I asked.

They have software to mine the web for certain types of data. CD is part of the web.

Most likely automated with Human oversight. At a guess, homeland security or FBI. Probably more concerned with people who might do something violent then anything else.

Yes, but only to look for potential threats, not to see what the people are feeling. The government, at least the current government, clearly doesn't care what the people want.

That actually may not be that far off from the truth.

In so many words, I was actually thinking something along these lines.

Lol though this is funny, there's probably some truth to it, sadly.
