To answer the question-Yes. That massive NSA center in Utah wasn't built for nothing-not to mention the NRO, which actually has a bigger budget than the NSA but just isn't talked about. Then of course there's DHS, FBI, CIA.

But as others have said, it is done by algorithms and picking up key words and sentiments to monitor. But I also wouldn't doubt that there are some hired to post to control political dialogue.
I think more so political parties hire posters to control the message on well frequented sites, rather than the federal government. During the run up to the presidential elections, I've noticed and many have posted on the fact, that there's a definite spike in new members who are very versed in their particular party's talking points. Everyone has a SOCO they repeat endlessly and then after the election, they all disappear, for the most part.

(SOCO) Single Overriding Communication Objective.

I'm not 100% sure that the U.S. ever did go to the moon, and I'm certain we didn't do it with a gig of RAM, a toothpick, and a ball of chewed bubblegum or whatever other fantastical handicaps that you attributed to your scenario of U.S. astronauts who supposedly went to outer space, despite all the strict rules they had to follow.

Well it's accepted fact that a Hewlett Packard hand held calculator had more processing power than the computers used in the Apollo modules. Not too sure about the gum and toothpicks, though.

Just because it's an accepted fact among Americans doesn't make it true. It just means that people are willing to believe it.

If I was a decision-maker in the government, I would. Maybe not this website but others like it. It's a good way to 'listen' to what the people are saying/thinking.

[and there's nothing sinister about it]

I would say yes.

There are a lot of crazies on here, and they definitely have guns.

But I doubt that they watch it as closely as something like Stormfront or revleft.

I bet my co-workers and I are a heck of a lot smarter than you.
Lol......a space shuttle. To. The. Moon. Oh really?

Was that before or after Aquaman rode a dolphin to the moon?

There likely are a few high-achievers that work for the Federal Government, but it's unlikely you and your co-workers are "a heck of a lot smarter" than me.

So you have no interest in actually discussing your "theory" - you're just a troll. Got it.
