Depending upon their location and situation, it could be anything such as mandatory online job training, picking up litter on the side of the road, sorting recyclables at the dump, painting over graffiti, working at a daycare for the children of other welfare recipients who are doing their jobs, etc.
Additionally, food stamps should be food stamps. Here is your food stamps for bread. Here is your food stamps for vegetables. Here is your food stamps for milk. Etc.
This would be my number one reform. Was at wallyworld the other day and just glancing at the carts of suspected ebt users they have no clue how to shop even remotely healthy.
No, we all are innocent until proven guilty. If you get arrested for something a part of the due process can be regular checks but for people who have not there is no reason to force them to do anything.
Even though people are forced to take pre employment drug tests, they are applying for employment not benefits given to them from the Government.
They are innocent with no reason to try and prove them guilty of anything yet they are forced to take the test.

I would rather see food stamps gotten rid of and that money used for "soup" kitchens for the needs. They would also employee the people they serve as a sort of jobs/training program. They could also provide meal kits with fresh food for people to cook at home as well.

Again, for the I don't know how many times.....private industry can do things the government can not. The Constitution does not apply to private industry but rather to the government.
(wondering how many more times I will have to point this basic government 101 fact out)
If so, I assume the logic is "if you are going to accept aid from the federal government, you better not be using the money to do illegal things/drugs".
I think that's a perfectly reasonable line of thought. But what about those benefitting from the GI Bill? Pell grants? Government backed mortgages? FDIC insured bank accounts? People who take tax deductions? Government backed student loans? Using government healthcare?
Why is it only welfare recipients are the ones who should be tested, but not all of these other people who receive government handouts?
Ya, especially the biggest parasites of them all... the freakin politicians. They should be drug and alcohol tested weekly. All cops should **** in a cup daily.

How about why are taxpayers tested but the welfare recipients are not?

Then there is the admitted user at 1800 Pennsylvania Ave.

What if the welfare recipients spends money responsibly and gets free drugs from her boyfriend?
I'm okay with testing welfare recipients as long as everyone getting taxpayer money (govt employees, those with tax breaks) is tested.

True, however the employee works for their wages, they are not given to them.
The Military does test.
A big part of why employers test is due to government incentives in Workman's Comp.
Nope. I don't support drug testing period and either should anyone else. America.
