Biggest GDP for now. China is on the doorstep, and India will also be.

Rather than patting yourself on the back, perhaps it would be better to see what works in the Germanys and the Norways and the rest of the countries on the list, you know like your northerly neighbor, Canada, and adapt that rather than thinking your way is the only way.

Indeed, the US has fallen behind. But not because the US is bad; it's the methods people want to use to make it better. We look at nations like Norwway and think 'why don't we have it.' So they try and implement it. But Norway's population is a 4th of the population of NYC. It's way easier to finance their happy programs because they have so few to actually worry about.

It's like health care laws. Canada has universal healthcare and it's doing fine. Which is true. But we can't just implement Canada's system here because it would cost way more. Canada health care laws would cover (if everyone got it) 280 million fewer people than America's would. That's a lot less money Canada is spending.

But sadly, where's stuck with envious party and the lazy party. Either we do what they did over there 'cause it worked there or we don't do anything at all because tradition. We need innovation and should't shy away from change. Look at what countries' like Norway did as a starting model then figure out ways we can apply is here without bankrupting ourselves.

Is that how you determine who's a better nation?

If that's the, Nazi Germany must have been a pretty fantastic...

US has fallen so far in so many areas, that it is only a myth that it is the best country to live in. That myth may slowly sinking as Americans expand their horizons and travel outside of their country, however it is a well known fact, that most Americans have never been outside their own country so how could they have a clue as to what goes on elsewhere.

What a sad situation.
Luckily for you it is very easy to obtain a passport in our country.
I think we should keep this narrative going, 'please don't come here, it sucks. seek asylum in europe instead, you'll love it there.' The old iceland/greenland strategy, I like the way you think cupper

China GDP's is almost half of the U.S............the big difference is workers in the U.S. have rights while in China not so much.

India???? LMAO!!! India is ranked 10th in the GDP in the world and like China, don't have high standards of worker's rights and their poverty is nothing to be desired.

No country in the world is perfect, all have their problems........what works for Germany or Norway might not work for the U.S. because its a different culture and the population is totally different. For you to say lets "adapt" their policies without debating the outcome and cost in the short and long term is being clueless.

Norway has 5 million people and Germany has 80 million people.......that's not even 1/3 of what the U.S. have not counting the 20 million illegals we have to take care of............you can't pick and choose what things you like about other countries like a food buffet while ignoring the their cost and fall out and pretend by applying those policies in the U.S. that it will work while ignoring key factors.

You're basing your thinking on a survey titled "social progressive" or some such nonsense?

It should be given the federal debt is evidence of the monetary price we paid for it.

I never realized Communism was a threat to the U.S.

Seems China has done well, in spite of or because of communism.

Seems Vietnam has managed to prosper, too.
