surprised there's no thread on this yet.

despite her talk of feral cats, there is evidence that the cat was a neighbor's pet.

Dr. Kristen Lindsey allegedly shot an arrow into the back of an orange tabby's head and posted a proud photo this week on Facebook of herself smiling, as she dangled its limp body by the arrow's shaft.

Lindsey added a comment, CNN affiliate KBTX reported. "My first bow kill, lol. The only good feral tomcat is one with an arrow through it's head! Vet of the year award ... Gladly accepted."

"Austin County Sheriff Jack Brandes says his department has received calls and comments from around the world and are investigating. If they determine who shot the cat, that person will could animal cruelty charges.
Eyewitness News has learned she plans to meet with investigators next week with an attorney present."

I saw this a couple of days ago. Being fired should be only the first step. I can't say on here what I want to say, or have said elsewhere, but she should be relieved that I'm not the one who gets to decide her fate.

based on what I've read in various media comment sections, she'd be well advised to change her name and move to another country.

Special place in Hell reserved for people like this, imho.

Note - to all people who are feline companions, this is just one reason your feline friends should not be allowed outside. Dumbasses with bows are one of the many unnatural killers of cats that evolution has not prepared them for, and even if kitty whines at the door, know that you extend their life expectancy by nearly 3-4x by keeping them inside, safe and sound. Yep! I have 2 cats, both I rescued as stray kittens! 1 showed up at my door, and the other was from a woman who brought her in to work in hopes of her getting a home. Well, she did! My home! I would never dream of letting my cats roam outside.

I spoil my cats rotten as well. This is deplorable what she did. I can't look at the photo.

It's disturbing when men do something like this, but it's even more disturbing from a woman, really disturbing!

I am sure her life just changed and she has know idea where to turn. The cat will have the last laugh, so sad a human thinks this way!

Even if it was a feral cat, no excuse!!

My farm cats have an access door to the unfinished part of the barn (it is half barn/ half house on the inside) and then to the house inside. Each of them sleep on thier own human bed in a heated/air conditioned house with automatic feeders (science diet and tuna on the weekends) and water dispensers. They are pretty spoiled, but are nice critters.

The cats live inside for the most part, yet go outside to "hunt" and dispatch mice, rats, and rabbits. Our cats at my regular home exclusively stay inside.

On a farm, cats need to go outside to perform "thier farm chores" by taking care of the rodents.

It is actually suggested by the DNR to kill ferral cats when seen, but I certainly do not support such views, nor would I ever kill a ferral cat. Heck, I don't kill bobcats or mountain lions either, which are just making thier way in life and certainly slaughter their share of raccoons.

PS- I like dogs too. My dogs like my cats and vice versa.

I get the occasional wistful looks from my two feline American roommates, but my vet and I are in agreement that between pesticides on grass/flowers, dumbasses with bows, bored teenage miscreants, angry dogs, and of course, cars....my dynamic duo is much better off watching it all from my living room window, safe and sound in their plush kitty beds.

As a result, I've never had a cat live LESS than 14 years.

Nothing in the modern world of American suburbia is friendly to domesticated pets. So keep those dogs and cats safe and sound.

I notice that there are both lefties and righties on this thread. But we're all on the same page with this matter. This woman is deranged.
