Why do 90% of people in the US think ISIS is a threat? They have 30,000 troops and they're on the other side of the world. Yet in some conservative pieces and in the comments section of almost every single article, people hint their fear of an impending Islamic invasion of the United States.

Why do Americans, who are usually skeptical of what their own government says, keep on falling for propaganda from abroad over and over? Some idiot from the hot terror group of the day says he's going to destroy the USA, and it MAKES HEADLINES here. Why are so many Americans terrorized by stone-age blowhards?

I will take your links for "conservative pieces" on an "impending Islamic invasion."

In case you have not noticed there have been a lot of attacks by Islamists on American soil and more attempts AND the border both North and South is incredibly porous, but I don't recall any worries over an invasion, just worries over penetration by small groups to cause damage and about the radicalization of American Islamists. But those are different from what an "invasion" implies.

We'll have to ask those who were shot in the Fort Hood why? Oh that's right, many of them are dead. Although the shooter was not ISIS it doesn't mean that they won't come here and do the same thing.

It only takes one nutcase to kill.

We have a strong military. Our Marines, soldiers, airmen, and sailors can kick their ass if they dare to declare war on the United States.

However, Remember the day when the whole city of Boston stayed inside as the killers were hunted. They (we) did this not out of fear -- the chance that terrorists would come down your street with guns blazing was minuscule -- but because it was all we could do to help bring to justice the murderers who attacked our city at a moment of civic celebration.

And no amount of a Defense budget will change that.

We have a population of over 300 million people. You are FAR more likely to die from slipping in your shower, then from ISIS.

Even worse....your fear mongering deflection didnt even involve ISIS

They could train US citizens and send them back here.

As far as actually invading us with a traditional force, that seems pretty unlikely.
