It's an unrealistic and fantastic goal. It's laughable.
I'd agree but you don't sit there and wait for something to happen either. At what point do you decide to take action, do they have to set a school full of children on fire here before you'll take notice?

We haven't been attacked by a foreign terrorist in 14 years. I'm sure it's not because they like the US all of a sudden.

It's also not reported or understood sufficiently that ISIS is not a terrorist group. As a self-proclaimed caliphate, they're bound by their religion to keep expanding their territory, and every state that is not their caliphate is their enemy. They've declared war on the entire world. I'm sure they'd love to terrorize western countries but they barely have enough troops to hold their territory before shipping any abroad.

Even worse....your fear mongering deflection didnt even involve ISIS

more important is that the USA has 90+ million firearms owners. most of whom do not give a crap about isis, and would be willing to go gun to gun here in the USA.

having isisi here fighting Americans would be exactly like the UN invading and wearing their little blue helmets.

What are you gonna do about it? Take what action?

An American walked into a Connecticut school and massacred schoolchildren. If he can do it, anyone can. And he wasn't even a polished terrorist. Just a punk with a gun.

This is a free and open society. That comes with responsibility, but it also means having to deal with irresponsible and irrational people.

Going after ISIS is a waste of time. They aren't in our hemisphere. Better spend your time dealing with threats far closer to home.

Yeah sure.

But that's cute.....and ultimately meaningless.

If terrorists wanna attack this country, they can do it any day of the week. It's too easy. If we're not being attacked, it can safely be assumed that no one is interested at the moment. We shouldn't flatter ourselves by thinking that every disgruntled Muslim spends all day thinking about how to strike America. They have problems far closer to home to deal with that can't be solved by attacking us.

I can understand that not many urban centers have legal firearms, and really do not want more legal firearms in the hands of the law abiding citizen, but getting these legal firearms into the hands of the law abiding is what needs to be done. the law abiding is what is needed to show groups such as isis that we do not want them here and they need to stay right where they are at.

Military power means very little when you are fighting an entire country's population or a political ideology. In fact, the only reason ISIS exists is because the US military went into a region of the world and "kicked ass".
I said, if they declare war on the United States, I NEVER said we go over there to fight.

Obviously you are not speaking German or Japanese right now, are you? who the heck was talking about the Vietnamese sheesh

....and there has been a very large effort to eradicate them in that time until recently. Coincidentally the same time ISIS emerged. Who's side of the argument are you arguing?

They only need handful to cause great destruction. Deal with it now or deal with both the consequences and them later.

So if some nut job says I'm going to kill your children are you just going to ignore it or try and do something about it? The lone wolfs like Adam Lanza are difficult to identify however an organization that is supplying the resources and the brainwashing is not. That can be targeted and should be whenever and wherever possible.
