And how would the Republicans solve the problems of these few bad Democrat run cities? Which some of the best run cities are also Democrat run, so I don't think this is a political party issue, but you seem to think that so we will run with that.

For Detroit, Baltimore, Cleveland, Gary...cities where Republicans are not welcome and which corruption, crime, and poverty dominate and perpetuate.
1. Stop the corruption
2. Create a safe city
3. Develop better schools
4. Stop blaming the problems in the community on other people
5. Promoting a good business climate

Most urban (and civil in general, in any area) problems aren't caused by the local politicians. That said, Republican mayors sometimes can occasionally single-handedly make a huge improvement to a city. Giuliani in New York immediately springs to mind in playing a tremendous role in turning the New York of the 80s and early 90s into the New York of today.

All of which are standard things, not really a Republican or Democrat thing. And, not always easy to achieve in the social sense. The arrest of these officers was a good move forward.

Asbury Park had racial riots in the early seventies.. 45 years ago.. it is a beach town on prime real estate in NJ . After the riots it went downhill for fear of going there. Businesses closed and it still struggles today to develop and bring in the people. All the towns around it are affluent and have big mansions. Geraldo Rivera spoke of it as being his first job reporting there. He lives in the area and sees the blight.

Creating a safe city does not seem to be a Democrat "thing," with Obama and Holder trying to hamstring police departments and Hillary Clinton calling to "end the era of mass incarceration." And blaming the problems in the ghetto on other people is part of the Democrats' bread, butter, and calling card.

I felt like Asbury Park struggled due to nearby beach towns being more popular, heck, I didn't know they had any riots there. Seemed like a cute little beach town minus the charging people to go onto the beach.

There are lots of safe cities run by Democrats in this country. You need to get out and see more of this country if you didn't know that.
