The only reason they struggle with parallel parking is because many of us simply dont do it ever. If they did, they would get it down within a week.

The problem with your completely irrelevant rant there is that it was consensual sex. And don't give me any crap that she didn't know any better, so it's rape. She knew what she was doing she was got online, started using this app, lied about her age and then met up for sex. This isn't some 11 year-old being tricked into anything by some 50 year-old.
I have no idea why you're going to such length to defend this when the girl's parents even know their daughter was in the wrong and nothing should have happened to the guy.

Just looked at the Facebook page associated with the perp's story. Mommy and Daddy went out and bought their poor little baby his very own house to live in. I guess that's easier than giving up the Internet connection in their own house to abide by court orders. Good to see their priorities are straight.

The internet (smartphone?) ruling is laughable. So is the idea of "not talking to anyone under 17". Sorry, but there is no way to enforce this in modern society. I wouldn't give up my internet connection either btw, I'd be too busy emailing with lawyers and promoting my case to help get this overturned.
In the long run we all know that none of this should stand, and it probably wont. Unfortunately lives will be ruined in order for the judge to wag his finger at recreational sex, a judge who probably knows nothing about computers or the internet beyond "there's porn on there!!" or who really really wants his name in the papers.
This should NEVER have involved the law in the first place. It's frightening.

Good on the parents. First of all Id like to see those people enforce an "internet ban" and secondly who the hell would live without the internet in this day and age?
He did because he's over four years older than her. Had he been 17 or 18, perhaps not.
