The USG is going to let whoever they want come to this country..legal, illegal and refugee.
And there is not a damn thing you can do about it.

Bloom where you are planted has never been more true. If I were queen of the world, I'd stop all immigration until we can absorb what we have now and the country could support more.
Right now USA (and the world) has a SHORTAGE of skilled technical workers. It means that if we want to stop letting people in to do our work, that we need to quit cutting education, and need to have employers willing to pay a fair wage, and workers willing to the work. "The work" may be farming, factory work, or engineering work. We have shortages of skilled people in all of them, and more.

To the OP, assuming his quote of 100k is valid, I'd like to also know what the levels were before Obama?

I think that being afraid of Muslim immigrants is missing the point. Many terrorists are homegrown, many enter from Mexico or Canada, or other countries. We need to take care of ALL of our business, and do away with the racism, which only takes off the point of weeding out terrorist (in whatever form they come).

LOL..well illegals and refugees are not going to fill that bucket.

And for that "shortage" ? Americans are getting layed off in favor of H1-B's.
It's not a shortage..it's a labor cost issue.

1 American programmer = 2 Chinese programmers = 4 Indian programmers (total labor cost).

Why does it matter if people legally immigrate to the US from the middle east? And why do you assume they're all muslim? Would you assume everyone from italy is catholic?

Many folks are probably not following the day to day workings of the UN.
The UN asks countries to take in additional refugees. The UN currently needs to resettle 130,000 Muslim refugees.

Go do some research on this. The US has complied with several requests of taking in refugees from several countries, mostly Muslim due to the various wars.

This past April the US committed to taking 2000 Syrian refugees this year. The UN wants us to take more though.
We've also committed to take in refugees from Iraq, the Congo, Somalia and other countries.

There are many rich Muslim countries that can take Muslim refugees. Saudi, Brunei, Malaysia, Qatar, etc should be the dumping ground for these refugees.

U.S. should give refuge to Non-Muslims who are persecuted in Muslim countries. They will be forever grateful and not plan jihad attacks against US like Muslim refugees do.

Theres the problem. Muslim countries don't want other Muslims in their countries. They definitely don't want Palestinian Muslims there. Sunnis don't want Shias or other sects. If other Muslims don't want their fellow Muslims there, why should the west take them?

The last thing we need is a bunch of people with PSTD from war torn countries that are not compatibly with western ideals.

Because the UN asked us to take them and we said yes.
We just said yes to 2000 Syrians. But don't worry..our government said they will be "vetted".

Sorry, you're just wrong about that:

Manpower warns global skilled trades shortage could stall future economic growth

Don't like the source? Google "global shortage of skilled workers" or similar. I work with professional development in process industries (primarily oil and gas, but anything that requires engineers and technicians) and it's a global problem that ANYONE in the industry will acknowledge.

Even as we are laying off workers in the oil-patch, there is a long term demographic crisis of epic proportion within the petro-chem industries.

While concerns about terrorism may (or may not) be well founded, the fact that there is a shortage of global SKILLED workers is not debatable. (the shortage is even worse in the Mid East, FWIW)
