She couldn't answer because she knows that the American people support the ideas of Bernie Sanders. Surveys of the political views of Americans show this. They want a better government that responds to the needs of the people and improves the quality of life of Americans.
More and more people are seeing through the scare tactic of "evil socialism" used by the oligarchy that tries to scare people from voting for people who address the needs of the American people and dont ram trade deals, wars, Wall Street deregulation/bailout and $1m cancer treatments down their throats.
"In an interview with MSNBC host Chris Matthews in which the openly socialist Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders was brought up, Wasserman-Schultz was asked, "What is the difference between a Democrat and a socialist?" The stammering Wasserman-Schultz was pressed by Matthews, who said, "I used to think there was a big difference. What do you think?"
She tries to deflect the question by responding to a question he didn't ask - the difference between Republicans and Democrats but Matthews doesn't let go.
"You're the chairwoman of the Democratic Party. Tell me the difference between you and a socialist."
She couldn't answer the question.
Then he pressed her over whether the Socialist would speak at the Democrat convention. She said he would so the incredulous Matthews asked her again about letting a socialist speak? Then he asked if it would be in prime time. She wouldn't say.
Wasserman-Schultz Stumped About The Difference Between a Democrat and a Socialist
Matthews was being a dick and Wasserman-Schultz was being a typical "spokesman" type who will not deviate from talking points. These kinds of interviews are annoying and useless.

More interviewers need to be dicks when people refuse to come off their talking points.
